1. At the Bus Stop

I want to visit the park today. The park is far from my home. I do not want to walk all the way. There is a bus stop near my street. I put some money in my pocket. I put a sandwich in my coat pocket and leave home.

I walk on the pavement to the bus stop. I stop beside its sign. There is a small map under the sign. I stand near the sign and look at the road. There is no bus yet.

There is a map at the bus stop. I find the park on the map. A green line goes to it. The line has a number beside it. It is bus six. I need bus six to go to the park.

I look at the road again. A blue bus comes towards the stop. Its number is three. It stops in front of me. The doors open. I stay on the pavement. This is not my bus.

2. The Right Bus

The blue bus leaves the stop. I wait beside the sign. A yellow bus comes next. It has the number six on the front. This looks like the right bus. I wait until it stops and its doors open.

I stand near the open door and ask the driver a question. Does this bus go to the park? The driver says yes. He tells me the park is near the last stop. I get on the bus and ask for one ticket.

The ticket costs two pounds. I give the driver the right money. He gives me a small paper ticket. I put it in my pocket. I want to keep it safe. My bag is at home, so my pocket is a good place.

There is an empty seat near the front. I sit down and put my feet on the floor. My seat is beside a window. I can see the bus stop through it. The doors close, and the bus starts to move.

3. Near the Park

The bus goes down a long street. I see a shop on the left. I see a school on the right. The bus stops near the school. Two people get off. I stay in my seat. This is not the park.

At the next stop, the doors open again. I look out of my window. There is a long wall beside the road. I cannot see the park yet. The driver closes the doors. The bus starts to move again.

I can see many trees now. The driver says the next stop is the park. I press the stop button near my seat. I stay seated while the bus moves. I take my ticket from my pocket and hold it.

The bus stops, and the doors open. I stand up and walk to the door. I thank the driver before I get off. Now I am on the pavement again. The yellow bus leaves. I look for the park gate.

4. A Seat Under a Tree

The park gate is on my right. I walk along the pavement to it. I do not need to cross the road. There is a little map beside the gate. It shows the paths, the toilets and a small place to buy food.

I walk into the park. A wide path goes left. A narrow path goes right. I take the wide path. It goes past a tree with red leaves. There is a seat under the tree. I sit down for a rest.

I take a small sandwich from my coat pocket. I eat it and watch the birds. My ticket is in my other pocket. I check the number on it. It says six. That is the bus I need to remember.

Before I leave the park, I look at its map. The map shows the stop for home. It is beside the gate, on this side of the road. Bus six goes round the park. Then it goes back to my street. I walk to that stop and wait for bus six.
